Brake Services Overview

• Brake Rotor Resurfacing: When the brake rotors are damaged, your CX-5 won’t be able to deliver safe braking performance. We can restore the condition of the brake rotors through our resurfacing service. We can also replace the rotors if we cannot fix the damage resurfacing. A common sign of damaged rotors is vibrations in the brake pedal when you engage the brakes.
• Brake Fluid Exchange: The brake fluid is a type of incompressible hydraulic fluid vital to the function of the brake system. Over time the brake fluid can accumulate contaminants, such as moisture or tiny metal particles, making it less effective. We recommend you get the brake fluid of your CX-5 inspected by our expert technicians to determine if a brake fluid exchange is needed.
• Brake Pad Replacement: You can expect the brake pads on your CX-5 to require replacement every 20,000 to 40,000 miles, depending on a few factors, such as the quality of brake pads. It could be an indicator of worn-out brake pads if you hear a grinding or squeaking noise when braking or feel the brakes are not performing as they used to.
• Brake Inspections: Our ASE factory-trained technicians at Cutter Mazda Honolulu can inspect the condition and performance of the brake rotors, brake pads, brake calipers, and other brake components to check if any component requires attention. Our technicians might also do a test drive to check how the brakes perform on the road.
